The things you do first thing in the morning set the stage to win the day.
What do you do to start your day out with positive energy and a good mindset?
U.S Navy Admiral William McRaven says, “If you want to change the world, start by making your bed”. This simple task performed every morning gives you an automatic win first thing. By making your bed, you accomplish a task, which sets you up to accomplish more tasks. You can see his entire speech here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sK3wJAxGfs
Some other morning tips from successful people are:
Don’t hit that snooze button. Set your alarm for the time you want to get up and when the alarm goes off, turn on the light, get out of bed, get moving. (This would be a good time to make your bed so you aren’t tempted to lay back down).
Meditate. Whether you are religious and choose prayerful meditation or just take a few minutes to quietly meditate to set your positive vibes for the day.
Read/Write. Read a motivational passage or write in a gratitude journal.
Exercise. Get moving. This may not be a full-blown heavy lifting workout or an hour of cardio. Maybe it is a half hour of yoga, stretching or flow. Getting your body moving and the blood flowing sets a great tone for the day, plus exercise releases those happy hormones call endorphins.
These tips can help you get your day started on the right foot. But, how do you maintain that winning mindset throughout the day?
